EMPU ( Enhanced Multilingual Programming Utility) is a useful application that was especially designed to help you create or edit text documents, but also load and compile code files, merge projects and so on.



Basically EMPU is a lightweight text editor with many of the features of an IDE. There are several applications in existence that accomplish parts this goal, however each has its own downside. EMPU was designed to overcome these flaws.



It features syntax highlighting for a wide variety of languages like C , Haskell, ActionScript, HTML, XML, Python, PHP, PostgreSQL, Perl, CSS and many more.
